Context

A questionnaire without evidence is a self-declaration.

Clients, financial institutions and buyers ask suppliers and partners to demonstrate their ESG practices. When the answer comes without a document, the assessment cannot be compared from one year to the next or across companies, and it does not hold up in an audit.

For the market, sustainability cannot depend on self-declaration.

How it works

From question to evidence, in five steps

  1. Tailored questionnaire

Questions are adapted to the size and CNAE of the company assessed, drawing on 400+ ESG criteria.

  2. Answer with evidence

Every answer must be backed by documentary evidence, such as policies, licenses, reports and records.

  3. AI-supported document review with human oversight

AI organizes the reading of each document and points out what does not match the answer, including signs of a tampered document, citing the pages. An ESGreen analyst reviews each analysis and decides.

  4. Cross-checked against public and private data

Answers are compared with what public sources show about the company, through the ESGreen Score.

  5. Maturity score and history

The company receives a maturity score per pillar and a maturity level, with improvement points per criterion and the annual history of its progress.

Answer credibility

Evidence, not declarations.

Clear rules for respondents and an ESGreen analyst on every review.

  • “Fully meets” only with a document

Anyone who declares full compliance attaches the document that supports the answer.

  • “Not applicable” only with a justification

Anyone who marks a criterion as not applicable explains why, and the explanation is recorded.

  • AI with human review

AI organizes the reading of each document and points out what does not match the answer, including signs of a tampered document, citing the pages. An ESGreen analyst reviews each analysis and decides, and the company receives a correction request when something does not add up.

AI suggests and organizes. The analyst decides.

“Based on this model, we were able to turn good intentions into a solid structure: we created policies, formalized processes and made concrete progress. This was essential for us to be qualified as a supplier by a multinational and to handle RFPs with confidence.”

“In the tool, we can see the score, which helped us get a realistic view of our progress each year, of where we are and where we can improve.”

What Evidence Assessment is, and what it is not

Evidence Assessment measures ESG maturity based on documentary evidence and public data. It does not replace an audit, independent assurance or verification by accredited verifiers, and the result does not constitute a credit rating.

What is ESGreen Evidence Assessment?

It is an ESG maturity assessment based on a questionnaire tailored to company size and CNAE, in which every answer is backed by documentary evidence analyzed with the support of artificial intelligence.

How many criteria does the assessment use?

The base has 400+ ESG criteria. Each company's questionnaire uses the criteria that apply to its size and CNAE (economic activity code).

How is artificial intelligence used?

AI supports the analysis of the documents submitted: it points out what does not match the answer and flags evidence that is pending, inconsistent or shows signs of tampering, citing the pages. An ESGreen analyst reviews each analysis and decides. The criteria and methodology are defined by ESGreen.

Who reviews the AI analysis?

An ESGreen analyst. AI suggests and organizes; the analyst reviews each analysis, decides and, when something does not match, asks the company assessed for a correction. The decision about the supplier remains with the contracting party.

Does Evidence Assessment replace an ESG audit?

No. The assessment produces a maturity score based on evidence. It does not attest legal compliance and does not replace an audit, independent assurance or verification by accredited verifiers.

What are the maturity levels?

They are the company's stages in the self-assessment: Soil, Seed, Root, Tree and Fruit, from the initial stage to consolidated practice. The level shows where the company stands and what it needs to advance. In ESGreen Score 2.0, proven maturity adds points and never takes them away.

How does the client track the program?

Through a dashboard showing questionnaire progress, the response rate, the pillar with the lowest average, the evidence index (the share of answers with a document) and the company ranking, with export. Before sending, the client checks which questions apply to each CNAE and size.

How often is the company assessed?

The assessment runs in cycles, and the platform keeps the annual history to show how the score evolves.

How is it different from Pre-assessment and Monitoring?

Pre-assessment and Monitoring use public, regulatory and global data about the company, without depending on it. Evidence Assessment starts from the practices the company itself declares and proves with documents, and cross-checks those answers against public data.
